Dr. Jason, of Lakeshore Orthodontics, visits our Blue Water Dentistry office two Wednesdays each month to provide orthodontic services for the convenience of our patients.

Orthodontic Specialist Jason L. Charnley, D.D.S, M.S.

Traditional Orthodontics
Most people think orthodontic care (braces) simply involves straightening the teeth; however, an orthodontic specialist has advanced training to evaluate the underlying skeletal harmony of the face and when appropriate, implement growth modification to maximize facial esthetics. It is nice to have well aligned teeth, but the most important thing is a well balanced face.

We provide comprehensive orthodontic care for children and adults using traditional braces, Invisalign, functional appliances for growth modification, interdisciplinary treatment (including orthognathic surgery/orthodontic cases, implant site preparation, orthodontic/periodontic patients and complex pre-prosthodontic orthodontic setups) and craniofacial anomalies including cleft lip and palate and various syndrome cases.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that your child receive an orthodontic examination between the ages of 7 and 8.

We provide various options for esthetic orthodontic treatment including tooth colored ceramic brackets and wires.

Invisalign
Invisalign treatment consists of a series of clear, snap-on, custom fit, removable mouth trays (aligners) that apply a controlled amount of force to your teeth, causing them to change position over time. In addition, because Invisalign trays are removable, they can be taken out while eating, drinking, brushing and flossing. The Invisalign System works by first creating a series of trays that will each move your teeth gradually until the end result is achieved. At the end of each two-week period, you will switch trays. Throughout the process, you will visit your orthodontist every four to six weeks to ensure treatment is progressing as planned.

Invisalign works well for certain types of orthodontic problems, while with others it is less predictable. Using Dr. Jason’s orthodontic training and experience, he can determine if Invisalign is right for you.
